HerScan Reviews

I decided to get an ultrasound because I was told that I have dense breast. Today I had my first ultrasound, through HerScan. The process was simple, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the procedure took less than fifteen minutes. I’m glad I decided to go through with the procedure and I would choose HerScan again, because they put you at ease with the whole process. Thanks, for putting my mind at ease. - Karen J., October 2026

I’ve been getting a HerScan breast ultrasound annually for the past five years and have had a great experience each time. I especially appreciate that it’s non-invasive, comfortable, and doesn’t use radiation. As someone with dense breast tissue, having this option available gives me additional peace of mind when it comes to being proactive about my breast health. The technician I’ve had for the past several years has always been incredibly warm, friendly, and professional, which makes the entire experience very comfortable. This year, I was even able to have my HerScan done at Emerald Key Wellness, a wellness practice very close to home, which made scheduling and getting my screening done especially convenient. I’ve been very happy with my experience over the past five years and highly recommend HerScan to women who are interested in adding breast ultrasound to their personal breast health screening plan. - Brianna L., September 2026

Extremely satisfied! The environment and set up were all welcoming. The price is extremely reasonable for women seeking ultrasounds as a layer of further insight of their breast health. - Joanne S., August 2026

Scheduling was simple. I recieved followup texts which were helpful. Online registration form was simple. The area was clean and private. My tech was nice, informative and discreet. The ultrasound was painless and fast. I have dense beasts so an ultrasound is effective. I also like that I am not exposed to more radiation. I would recommend a Herscan to women of all ages even younger women.  - Kathleen V., August 2026

I was so excited to get an appointment with HerScan in Portland on a cancellation. This is imaging that I have felt was necessary, but due to my age and current “no problems” status, not a screening that doctors would order, let alone insurance would pay for. Never mind I have in writing from a radiologist that I should be receiving breast ultrasound screenings due to extremely dense breast tissue! Huge thank you to the woman who checked me in and to the sonographer- the process was easy, fast, painless, and relaxed. I am hoping to coordinate a HerScan pop up in my town, because more women need this service! Thank you, HerScan, for capturing a huge population that has been told “good luck” with a wave of the hand by traditional medical personnel. YOU are saving lives!! - Corey B., September 2026

Easy to make the appointment, and exceptional communication leading up to the appointment and during the appointment. They didn’t overbook, so no waiting in a crowded lobby. (They were actually running early.) The exam was in a private, comfortable room and the ultrasound tech was friendly and informative. Very low stress. Also, great communication on what to expect regarding results and follow up. - Alexis, August 2026

This was such a great experience. The fact they scan the entire breast, in between both and both armpits is amazing. Any ultrasound I’ve had only takes images of a questionable area and not the entire breast. Worth every penny! - Lisa K., August 2026
I LOVE Herscan. It is simple and easy. I go annually as preventative care. The technician is amazing and the whole company and experience is caring and considerate. It is probably the best healthcare interaction I have each year!! - Lea M., August 2026

Excellent opportunity to have a third type of screening without the red tape of an order and insurance approval. Reasonable price. The technologist was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I plan to return next year.- Wendy H., July 2026

This is my second year having a Her scan. As a person with dense breast tissue, I know ultrasound is a great way to detect even through the thick tissue. The techs are always very professional and kind. Answering whatever questions I might have. I was in and out within a half hour. Would highly recommend doing yearly! - Brandy B., May 2025

This is the greatest service available to women. HerScan popped up on my FB feed as an affordable service that allows me to advocate for my own health. My current state of residence does not allow for ultrasounds for dense breast tissue unless it is prescribed by a doctor. I love that I have an affordable option to take that extra step. The HerScan ultrasound techs are knowledgeable, supportive, and friendly. - Jennifer F., September 2026

I have had a great experience year after year with HerScan. Everyone is always organized and very kind and respectful. This is a literal life saver for those uninsured, underinsured or “too young” for the standard 40 yr + mammogram. I am so thankful to have found HerScan and for the peace of mind they provide. - Vanessa D., November 2024

If you want easy, thorough breast imaging, go here. They caught something that my previous imaging did not so I'm SUPER grateful this organization exists. It is absolutely worth the $295, I'd pay that again in a heartbeat for the info they provided. If you're thinking of getting this done please just go do it, it's an investment in your health and your future and it's super important. - Makenna H., September 2026

Hands down the easiest screening process I’ve experienced. Clean environment, kind and professional staff, and a quick 20-minute appointment. I received my results promptly and love how straightforward HerScan makes taking charge of your health. Five stars! - Markie R., September 2026

This was a great experience! I love that I have access to preventative health without having to get a referral or see a physician. The whole process was easy. My tech was very sweet, knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable. Definitely recommending Herscan to everyone. - Melissa G., September 2025

Extremely satisfied! The environment and set up were all welcoming. The price is extremely reasonable for women seeking ultrasounds as a layer of further insight of their breast health. - Joanne S., August 2026

So simple and easy. The location was great and the lady preforming the ultrasound was friendly and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and was very professional. I highly recommend this service and will be doing this annually. Thank you. - Anna E., August 2025
I was very nervous about the appointment. Once I got there and got more informed, my nerves were put to ease. The nurse was very Helpful with the whole process. I definitely will do it again. - Teri J., August 2025

Friendly and professional from the moment I arrived. Was hands down the easiest breast screening I've ever had. Would highly recommend if you need an ultrasound for breast cancer screening, especially if you have dense breasts. - Misti K., July 2025

Frequently Asked Questions

Does HerScan replace a mammogram?

No. Breast ultrasound and mammography provide different types of information. HerScan should not be considered a replacement for mammography when mammography is recommended by your healthcare provider. Ultrasound may be used as an additional screening tool, including for women with dense breast tissue.

HerScan provides a screening examination rather than a diagnosis. If the interpreting radiologist identifies a finding requiring further evaluation, the report may recommend follow-up with a healthcare provider or diagnostic breast imaging facility.

Yes. Like other medical screening tests, breast ultrasound can identify findings that ultimately prove benign after additional diagnostic evaluation. Screening is designed to identify findings that may warrant further investigation; it cannot determine on its own whether every finding represents cancer.

Breast ultrasound does not use compression or radiation. Many HerScan customers describe the experience as comfortable, easy and painless.

HerScan operates a mobile screening model designed to bring breast ultrasound services into communities rather than requiring every patient to travel to a permanent imaging center. Screenings may therefore take place in private rooms within hotels, medical offices, wellness centers, workplaces and other community locations.

Each screening area is configured to provide patient privacy and accommodate professional ultrasound equipment.

Nyomie's HerScan Experience: Finding Breast Cancer Without Symptoms

I was never really someone who believed in being proactive about my health, but after learning these results, I want every woman to know that it truly matters.

I actually came across HerScan while scrolling on Instagram and decided to give it a try after turning 40 this past January. Something about it stayed with me, and I felt like it was the right time to be proactive about my health.

I am incredibly grateful that I listened to that feeling and made the appointment. What is especially scary to think about is that I had absolutely no symptoms. I felt completely fine, and my lump was less than an inch. Because I have dense breasts, my primary care physician had never felt any lumps during exams.

If I had not gone for this scan, it could have been years before my cancer was discovered, and my journey could have looked very different. I may have needed chemotherapy or faced something even worse. My experience with HerScan was comforting, professional, and empowering from the moment I walked in. The process helped detect my breast cancer early, and because of that early detection, my doctors are optimistic about my treatment and outcome. Hearing the word “cancer” is terrifying, but knowing it was caught early has made all the difference in my care and my mindset moving forward.

I honestly believe this scan may have saved my life. If there is one thing I would want other women to know, it is this: listen to your body, advocate for yourself, and do not put off screenings out of fear. Early detection truly matters. Taking that one appointment could change and possibly save your life.

Thank you again to the entire HerScan team for what you do and for helping women like me catch something before it was too late. I will forever be grateful. - Nyomie P., May 2026
